About Tahlia
I’m a patient and enthusiastic tutor who loves helping students feel more confident with English. My teaching style is friendly, supportive and flexible, I adapt every lesson to what the student needs, whether that’s conversation practice, grammar help, pronunciation or anything else.
Through my experience working with international students at UTAS, I’ve learned how to explain things clearly and make learning feel comfortable rather than stressful. I always aim to create a positive, encouraging environment where students feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes and grow at their own pace.

My approach would be centred on creating a supportive, structured and confidence‑building learning environment for ESL students. I would tailor every lesson to the learner’s goals, whether they need help with conversational English, academic writing, pronunciation, grammar or assessments. I would use a combination of active learning techniques, including guided conversation and real‑world examples and step by step explanations to ensure students understand the English language.
A typical lesson runs for 60 minutes, although this can be adjusted. These would include a warm up activity, targeted skill practice and a short review at the end to reinforce learning.
I am a UTAS student with experience supporting international students, particularly those adjusting to academic English requirements at university. My background in communication, academic writing and mentoring allows me to explain concepts clearly and adapt my teaching style to different learning preferences. I am reliable, patient and committed to helping students feel comfortable and confident using English in everyday and academic settings. My lessons are suitable for beginner ESL learners, including high‑school students and university students who want to improve their English.
