About Carina
I grew up in a household where both English and Portuguese were crucially used as means of communication in a day-to-day basis, I became fluent in English through a constant contact with the language.
I got an overall score of 207 out of 210 points in the CAE exam (Certificate in Advanced English), achieving the maximum punctuation in three out of the five parameters (namely Use of English, Writing and Speaking).
However, my experience goes far beyond my grades and my close contact with English. In 2020, I was selected to represent Portuguese students in an OECD educational project called “OECD Education for 2030”. Thus, I was a speaker at several events of the organization, which were attended by researchers, professors, policymakers and government officials from different countries.
In addition to that, I got through multiple selection processes pertinent to the European Youth Parliament, including being selected amongst over 150 delegates to integrate the Portuguese delegation in an International Session that will be held in Belgium, circa October 2022. This this entire process, of course, took place in English.
I believe that knowing how to speak English is crucial for one’s success — not only in the academic context, but also in the current job market —, which is what I can and will help you with in my classes.
