About Sam
With a PhD in Condensed Matter Physics from the University of Warwick (UK), I have gained valuable experience as both an experimental and computational physicist throughout my research career. I have had the opportunity to collaborate with esteemed institutions such as the Universities of Oxford, Cambridge, Durham, Hamburg, Southampton, and the Max Planck Institute.
In addition to my research work, I am passionate about public outreach and have successfully taught undergraduate students. In recognition of my excellence in teaching, I was awarded the Warwick Award for Teaching Excellence. Furthermore, I am proud to be an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, reflecting my commitment to high-quality teaching and learning practices.

My approach to teaching focuses on fostering a deep understanding of the underlying principles of physics, and making learning an enjoyable experience, rather than just a means to pass exams. I am dedicated to helping you break through any challenging concepts you wish to understand.
Whether you are seeking a one-time lesson on a specific topic or consistent lessons, I am happy to teach at any level, from high school upwards, including adult learners.
To ensure that our lessons are tailored to your specific needs, I would like to hear from you prior to our first session. This will give me the opportunity to understand your expectations, the concepts you wish to focus on, and any specific questions that you may be struggling with. By working together, I am confident that we can achieve the best outcome for your learning experience.
