About Camila
I’m a scientist specialising in human and bacterial genetics, currently working in gene-editing research. I hold a BSc in Microbiology and an MSc in Molecular Medicine from the UK, and I have several years of experience tutoring biology and mentoring interns in research settings. I bring both scientific expertise and a genuine passion for teaching, helping students understand difficult concepts while building confidence. Having lived in multiple countries, I’m experienced in adapting to different learning styles and connecting with students from diverse backgrounds. I love taking complex biology topics and making them approachable and understandable. I use step-by-step explanations, clear analogies, and visual thinking. For example, DNA transcription and translation can be explained like building IKEA furniture: DNA is the blueprint, amino acids are the pieces, and proteins are the finished product. Lessons are 45–60 minutes, tailored to your level and learning style. Whether you want to prepare for exams, tackle tricky topics, or just understand biology better, my goal is to make learning manageable, engaging, and confidence-boosting.
