About Colleen
I have more than 25 years in public education, with a Bachelor of Arts in English from Williams College and a Master's degree in Teaching English as a Second Language. I have taught from fourth grade through university level and adult education classes. I have worked for over 10 years in education research and apply proven methodology to my teaching: modeling the learning task, using real-world scenarios and applications, providing specific constructive feedback, and actively engaging learners. I believe success breeds success and will break down complex concepts and tasks to build wins early and often. I know the public school system isn't designed for every student's gifts and love helping students see their strengths, apply them to the learning task, and gain skills to bridge any gaps.
