About PAUL
I used to be a Physics and Chemistry teacher in several Texas high schools before I retired. I have taught both at the high school level and college level for 16 years, both in United States and abroad. Although I have taught physics most of my career, I have taught chemistry also at the high school level for a few years. I have also taught Calculus at the University level and I am comfortable tutoring Calculus and Algebra to college students too.
I have a valid Texas teaching certification and has passed criminal background and fingerprinting checks (which is a requirement for being a public school teacher).
My education is in Physics and Electrical Engineering (Graduate-level). If needed, I can tutor some EE subjects too (depending on the needs of the student).
I have retired from full-time classroom teaching and currently pursuing other interests.

I believe that teaching styles cannot be static, it has to adjust according to the student who is being taught. My teaching methodology varies according to the learning style of the student. Some students need minimum direction. They seek out a tutor to help them clarify some questions that they may have. Some other students might lack the basics to grasp what is taught in their classes. As a result, they feel frustrated and overwhelmed. They need a scaffolding approach, to bring them up from their current level to where they are supposed to be. Wherever needed, I try to bring demos or assign virtual simulations and other resources to supplement the face-to-face teaching.
Within a session or two, I will be able to ascertain which learning style a student has and I will adjust my lessons accordingly. Some will be fast-paced, while others will have more time for individual practice.
I generally offer tutoring in a public place such as a library or a park, depending on the convenience and requirements of the student and their parents.
My lessons are geared towards college students or high school students. Occasionally, I tutor middle-school kids too.
