About Charlotte
I served for decades as a judge before retiring into private teaching, and across eighteen years combining that career with private Spanish instruction I have guided approximately five hundred forty students. My legal background gives me an unusually precise, structured understanding of how language functions in serious, consequential settings, insight built from decades of professional argumentation and formal communication. I work particularly well with professionals, academics, and ambitious students who need Spanish that holds up in serious, formal, or high-stakes situations. My teaching style is exacting and intellectually rigorous, reflecting decades of professional legal standards, though I remain genuinely patient with students working hard to reach that level of precision. I correct precisely and directly, explaining exactly why one phrasing carries more weight or clarity than another, the same reasoning I applied constantly on the bench. Written communication receives real attention too, since clear, well-structured writing carries genuine weight in professional and formal contexts.
