About Kimberly
I have tutored, taught, and worked with children and adults for most of my life. As a teacher, I had classes of students from ages 2- 15 years old in both special and general education for 25 years. During that time I also tutored a variety of subjects focusing mostly on reading and math. When I retired after my 25 years of teaching I continued tutoring both in person and online.

My philosophy of teaching and learning is that people learn by doing. For children, in particular, doing means play. For that reason, I make my lessons fun and active. We play with numbers, letters, and the world around us. I use what you know and love to make concepts make sense and comprehension comes naturally. Join me for fun and learning that lasts.

Perfect! Ms. Kim came prepared to help my son with his math and reading skills. She did a few tests to get an idea of a good starting point. He was very happily motivated by a huge assortment of stickers she brought with her. Unfortunately/fortunately, we have found someone to tutor him that has more flexibility with her available hours. We will keep Ms. Kim in mind if we're looking for a different tutor.
- My student was hesitant at first but warmed up as we discussed his likes and dislikes. I enjoyed working with him but feel more comfortable with younger students and I know they found another tutor with a more open schedule. I would be open to trying with them if something changes in the future.Kimberly's response :
