About Amar
My name is Amaruddin Baki and my friends call me Amar. I am a retired English teacher after serving the Ministry of Education Malaysia for 35 years. My last post was the principal of SMK Bukit Damar, Lanchang, Pahang.
I received my basic teacher training at Mohd Khalid Teacher Training College in JB. A few years later, I did my Diploma in English as a Second Language at Malaya University and later continued with a Bachelor in Education (Hons) TESL at Lancaster University, UK.
Over those 35 years of service, I had the experience of teaching primary and secondary schools, as well as being a part-time tutor at UiTM, Jengka, Pahang and OUM Temerloh. Besides, I was also one of the examiners for the SPM English papers. In addition, I had also conducted my own speaking class for adults in Temerloh.
Although I have retired but I still have a strong passion for teaching and I love to teach speaking skills since it was not given serious attention in most schools.

Focusing on one-to-one lessons on simple everyday conversations as well as specific language that are commonly used within the student's context. The lessons are using dialogue, stories, pictures, songs and videos as stimulus to create issues that can spark a conversation. At the same time, the tutor will highlight certain grammar points that are used throughout the lesson.
