About Yonathan
From Physics courses in the UK, US, and Africa, I’ve wrestled through the exact courses students struggle with. Through my high school and college years, I have taken A Level Physics (A*), AP Physics 1 (5), Physics 1: Mechanics, and Physics 2: Electromagnetism at Rice University.
I know when to expect confusion. I can recognize the moments where students lose the concept and start memorizing, instead. However, I value these moments because they are turning points at which real understanding can finally be built. Formulas aren't working, the textbook makes no sense, you're lost in class, and you're blanking on exams. Physics isn't intuitive. Trust me, I know!
As a student who had to endure these exact issues, I now teach model first, math second. Once you have the mental picture, I can guarantee that picking the right method to solve becomes the easiest task.
Physics is a language that really needs translation. I teach students how to convert plain words → physics → equations, THEN vice versa. This is the step most classes skip, and it’s the reason so many students feel stuck.
Sketch it out! My most proven technique is doodling. Visual approaches singlehandedly convey more information than a textbook page. Free‑body diagrams, field lines, motion paths: if you can draw it, you can solve it.

Having Yonathan as a tutor honestly feels like a cheat code. He has a great intuitive grasp of complex concepts, and he’s really good at walking you through tough problems step by step without overcomplicating things. I’ve known him for over half a decade, and I can say for sure I wouldn’t have passed some of my classes without his help. He’s basically like having a personal organic chemistry tutor from YouTube, but better because you can actually ask questions and get clear answers on the spot.
