About Марина
I’m a student majoring in Russian Philology, studying teaching methods for both Russian and English. One fun fact about me: I’ve studied Old Church Slavonic! For the past three years, I’ve been running an in-person Russian conversation club for foreigners in Moscow. It’s not just about talking — we dive into various cultural aspects by reading classic Russian literature, sharing traditional foods, discussing holidays, and more. This part of my life is something I truly love! I’m fluent in English and planning to learn Italian in the future. I fully understand the challenges of learning languages because I’ve been on this fascinating journey myself — and I’m still learning every day.

What sets me apart?
I have formal training as a teacher of both Russian and English, which means I am not just a native speaker — I understand how the language developed, the factors that shaped it, and the nuances involved in learning it.
I founded and lead a Russian conversation club for foreigners in Moscow, which has been running every Saturday for three years. This experience has taught me a lot about different cultures and given me deep insight into Russian culture. I even wrote an article on learning Russian through literature, so cultural aspects will definitely be an important part of our lessons.
I work with both adults (often university students) and schoolchildren, and have successfully helped foreign children improve their academic performance in Russian schools.
Thanks to my experience running the conversation club, I’m very comfortable leading group classes, which I believe are highly effective for developing speaking and listening skills.
