About Frederik
Hi there! My name is Frederik! I grew up here in London, but have lived and studied in California and St. Petersburg. The Russian Language is one of my greatest passions and I'm very excited about teaching it. In my spare time I enjoy reading, drawing, video games and learning new languages, I've just started to learn Arabic!

I focus on the finer points of Russian Grammar and Conversation. I use a mix of explanation, examples from contemporary texts, and in-class written exercises. I also include sections of music, film clips and poetry for cultural enrichment and to keep things lively. I started my own Russian language journey in 2015 when I began to study at UC Berkeley, where I finished with Honours in Russian. I have also lived in Kazakhstan and Russia for brief periods of time, including finishing my MA in Russian studies, which featured more Russian language instruction. I have only been tutoring for a few months but am very keen! At the moment I tutor adult learners who learn for a passion/hobby and enjoy that, but I can also teach students who need help with their GCSEs.

Perfect! Frederik is a fantastic teacher, he explained grammar really clearly and made the lesson great fun. He has lots of material to work with and we have clear objectives for our tutoring sessions. He is helping me speak more confidently in Russian and is passionate about the language, highly recommended!!
