About Dan
After graduating from the University of Sheffield's combined English Literature and Music programme (1st class honours), he completed a two year MA in Jazz Performance at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama -- graduating with Distinction. These qualifications resulted in him developing strong communication skills, in addition to a high level of technical proficiency on the guitar.
Dan is a confident teacher of all ages, as he has previously worked with children as a Teaching Assistant (focussing on 1-1 support with SEND children) and currently delivers whole-class ukulele sessions to Y3 children one day per week as a part of the Welsh Government's 'First Experience's' programme. This experience with children has developed his patience and understanding of different teaching methods. He is also capable of teaching adults and high-level students, as he is a working professional and is always striving to improve and deepen his understanding of music.
He performs all around the country with a number of different bands and is an integral part of several musical projects.

Dan has been a professional guitarist and guitar teacher for the past five years and, during this time, has developed an empathetic and accessible teaching style that focuses on developing fundamental techniques, musicality and creativity. He is passionate about a variety of musical styles and prides himself on being a versatile and enthusiastic performer. As a result, he is happy to teach Jazz guitar; Rock/Pop guitar; Classical/Finger-style guitar; and Improvisation/Music Theory.
During a lesson, he is patient and supportive of the student, often playing along with them in order to develop their confidence and time-feel. He encourages a no-judgement environment where the student is allowed to make mistakes, offering advice after attempts to encourage good technique and useful practice habits.
Rates:
One-off Lessons:
-1hr: £40
-45mins: £35
Recurring Lessons:
(Groups of 4 Lessons Paid at the Beginning of the Month)
-1hr: £30 (£120)
-45mins: £25 (£100)
-30mins: £20 (£80)
Travel rate for in-person lessons:
-£13/hr (as per MU rate for travel)
