About Patrick
Hi, I'm Patrick. I've tutored more than 40 students across SACE, QCE and WACE, and I study Science and Education at the University of Adelaide, three years into a five year double degree.
Most of my students are capable kids who have lost confidence somewhere along the way. Chemistry does this to people. The content stopped clicking, the marks slipped, and now they doubt themselves. That is the problem I work on. Once a student understands the material and can prove it to themselves, the marks follow. My chemistry students have jumped from C- to B and B to A, and that progress came from understanding, not just memorising.
I finished school with a 95.95 ATAR and Chemistry and Biology were my strongest subjects, so I know the SACE system from the inside, recently. Outside of study I train taekwondo and used to swim at national level, which turns out to be relevant: I know what improving at something slowly and deliberately feels like, and that's what I ask of my students.

SACE Chemistry has a reputation as one of the toughest subjects on the curriculum, for good reason. It stacks concepts, so one gap in Term 1 becomes three problems by Term 3. My job is finding and closing those gaps.
One hour, one on one. Every session starts with a quick review of last week, moves into new content with worked examples, then finishes with exam-style questions the student attempts on their own. I write my own worksheets for every student, aligned to the SACE Chemistry syllabus and calibrated against recent past exam papers, so nothing we do is generic.
Parents hear from me after every session. A short, specific message about what we covered, how your child handled it and what comes next. One parent wrote at the end of her daughter's Year 12 with me: "Very knowledgeable and fantastic at explaining all the concepts, and he kept me updated weekly on her progress. I would be happy to recommend him to any new or potential clients."
I take a small number of students so every one of them gets prepared work, not a tutor winging it. If that sounds like the right fit, send me a message and tell me a bit about your child.
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
Patrick helped tutor me in chemistry. He explained concepts clearly and created diagrams to help visualise complex ideas. Patrick is very patient and helped me feel more comfortable attempting difficult problems. I would highly recommend Patrick as a tutor.
He is very helpful when it comes to schoolwork
Patrick would make an awesome teacher because he's super efficient and manages to do well in school and sports while keeping a good social life. If you want someone who knows how to guide you to success and keep things going smoothly, he's your guy. What's cool about him is that he's not just smart but also really nice. You can ask him anything without feeling dumb, and he'll help you out patiently. So, if you're looking for a teacher who's friendly, good at what they do, and makes learning easy, Patrick's the one.
Patrick makes a great teacher because he is patient, and understanding with his students. When he tutored me, I didn't understand how fractions worked, but he helped me figure out where I was going wrong, and thought of a way to explain it so I can understand. Overall, a great recommendation.
