About Rachel
I instructed a woman's chorus (50+ women ages 17-23) on pronunciation and enunciation of sung French and how it differs from spoken French. I did a week-long field study in Paris on French Gothic architecture and then studied for 4 weeks in Lyon, France (eastern border - ~2hrs from Geneva, Switzerland).

I believe in a mixture of the different types of learning: kinesthetic, auditory/spoken/repetitive, etc. The choir I was in during school used a mixture of kinesthetic learning my adding movements to the warm-ups, while also teaching the solfege scale (do, re, mi...) so that learning the repertoire was not solely based on the piano giving the pitches. I like to work at the student's pace, make sure they fully comprehend the lesson before moving on to the next. I also try to keep the lesson fun by adding little activities to make the subject material interesting and makes it stick.
