About Melissa
My name is Melissa Del Balso and I am currently an undergraduate student in the Kindergarten/Elementary Education program at McGill University. My goal is to pursue a career as a teacher upon the completion of the program or continue my studies in a graduate program.
I chose to become an educator because I believe that the children you teach have the ability to shape the future. They have the power to make great changes in a continually evolving world. I want to teach my students that they have the power to make the world a better place and pursue their goals, if they work hard enough for it.

My lessons are tailored to elementary students (K-grade 6).
I believe that every child is different and they each come into a lesson with various needs. Every child learns at their own pace. Therefore, I believe it is important as an educator, that I have an adequate knowledge of my student's individual learning styles and their development stages. Considering each child's separate developmental stage and styles can help determine their specific needs which will effectively help in my teaching process.
I believe in the importance of helping children develop their cognitive, psychosocial and moral development as these are important qualities for future development. I am patient, considerate and accommodating of whichever level of development that they are currently at.
