About Di
I am an engineering professional with a passion for sharing knowledge and helping students navigate the exciting world of programming. With a Master’s degree in engineering and over 10 years of private teaching experience, I believe that the best learning outcomes arise from a student’s interest, consistent effort, and the right guidance and support. One-on-one sessions provide an ideal environment for tailored instruction and encouragement. I truly enjoy engaging with my students, understanding their perspectives on challenges, and listening to their thoughts. Students, especially those new to programming, often have unique viewpoints that offer valuable insights. It is rewarding for me to uncover the underlying messages in their expressions of confusion and joy, and I find great pleasure in providing the answers, guidance, or feedback they need. Additionally, I appreciate the opportunity to learn from each individual in every teaching experience.

My Python curriculum is created based on my 10+ years private teaching experience on more than 100 students. Many of them granted priorities in later studies such as high-school applications and joining robot competition teams. I adopt project based courses to introduce the concept of computer programming. The courses are prepared primarily for students from year 5 to year 10, and are also suitable for all individuals from 10 years old and above who do not have an programming background. Students will learn from fun projects including drawing and simple game design. All programming fundamentals will be covered thoroughly throughout this process, including development software (IDE), programming language syntax, and coding styles, etc. A typical session will be 90 minutes including concept illustration, practice, and interactive Q&As. Typically a learning project takes about 9 sessions, 1 session per week, which aligns with NSW school terms. After class practice is highly recommended for the best outcome like all sorts of learnings. Students are expected to practice for about 1 to 2 hours between teaching session. The progress and contents will be customized based on my standard curriculum to suit each student to meet their own needs and paces. As the courses progress, students will be guided to create more complex programs utilizing typical design patterns and common algorithms. By the end of the course, students will be equipped with all essential knowledge and skills to develop their own programs, either to solve a problem or just for fun. More importantly, they will get a direction for continuous learning to deepen their knowledge and sharpen their skills for their future journey.
