About Dasia
Hi there! I’m a second-year English major at Duquesne University with a passion for all things reading, writing, and editing. Over the past couple of years, I’ve had the privilege of helping high school students fine-tune their college essays, which I absolutely love doing—it’s all about finding their unique voice and making their stories shine. As someone who’s also deep in the trenches of essays, literature analysis, and creative projects, I totally get how overwhelming it can feel sometimes. My goal is to make things easier for you by creating a laid-back, supportive environment where we can tackle whatever’s got you stuck—whether that’s dissecting a tricky text, polishing an essay, or even brainstorming creative ideas. I’m all about keeping things clear, fun, and tailored to you. Think of me as a mix between your study buddy and a cheerleader who happens to know way too much about writing. Let’s work together to make your writing stronger and your confidence even stronger!

English
I’m all about making English fun, approachable, and totally tailored to you. I get it—English can be boring sometimes. That’s where I come in: think of me as your friendly guide to cracking literary codes, sharpening your writing, and making your studies way more enjoyable.
My approach is super chill but effective. I blend conversation, creative exercises, and hands-on learning to make sure you’re not just memorizing concepts—you’re actually using them. We’ll dive into your favorite texts, tear apart tricky theories, and maybe even play with a few creative writing prompts that feel less “classroom” and more “coffee shop brainstorm.”
Expect quick feedback (I’ve got your back!), and plenty of moments where we connect the dots between Shakespeare, pop culture, and even that Netflix series you’re binge-watching.
A Typical Lesson (aka what we’ll actually do)
1. Start with a vibe check We’ll ease in with a casual chat—maybe a quick word game or unpacking something you’ve been reading.
2. Deep dive into the lesson: We’ll tackle a text, theory, or skill you’re working on. Expect discussion, hands-on practice, and a chance to throw out your own ideas.
3. Wrap-up + takeaway: We’ll talk through what stuck, what you want to explore more, and I’ll send you off with a small (fun!) task that keeps the momentum going.
Why Me?
I make English feel less like a chore and more like an adventure. I’m big on creating a space where you can feel confident asking “silly” questions or trying out new ideas. Plus, I love finding ways to connect what we’re learning to things you’re already passionate about—whether that’s modern poetry, graphic novels, or dissecting song lyrics.
Who’s This For?
If you’re someone who wants to:
- Tackle tricky readings without the stress.
- Take your essays from “meh” to “wow!”
- Dive deeper into creative writing or critical analysis.
- Learn in a relaxed, judgment-free zone.
Let’s make your English studies something you actually *look forward to*. Ready? Let’s chat!
