About Mustansir
I am a second-year medical student at the University of British Columbia with a BSc Honors in Medical Sciences from Dalhousie University, where I also completed a Certificate in Human Physiology. I have a strong academic track record and a deep understanding of the foundational sciences I teach.
My experience includes extensive teaching roles, such as serving as a teaching assistant for university-level physiology and biology courses, working as a student dissector in a human anatomy lab, and tutoring students across a range of levels since 2016. Through these roles, I have developed the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and adapt my teaching to different learning styles.
I strive to create a supportive, professional, and engaging learning environment where students feel confident asking questions and mastering challenging material.

I take a structured, concept-first approach to tutoring, focusing on building a strong foundation before moving into application and exam-style questions. As a second-year medical student, I emphasize high-yield concepts, active recall, and spaced repetition to help students retain information long-term rather than just memorizing short-term.
A typical lesson starts with a quick review of prior material, followed by breaking down new concepts in a clear and intuitive way. I use diagrams, clinical correlations (when relevant), and practice questions to reinforce understanding. We always end with a summary and targeted questions to identify gaps.
What sets me apart is my ability to simplify complex topics and teach them in a way that actually sticks, along with insight into how these subjects are tested at higher levels.
My lessons are ideal for high school, pre-med, and university students studying biology, chemistry, anatomy, or physiology.
