About Rowan
I have experience in coaching secondary school children (1 to 1 and group) in GCSE English. The Students in Classrooms scheme at Nottingham Trent University which I was apart of trialled the idea of getting a team of students together to see if academic coaching would help secondary school pupils improve their grades.
The scheme was a success as the data was able to show that pupils who had academic coaching improved their grades compared with pupils who had not.

My experience in tutoring/academic coaching thus far has been with GCSE English students. Psychology is my specialist subject however and I am looking to provide lessons up to a standard of A level.
My sessions will begin with an outline of the intended goals for the session.
Each topic will be explained in a methodical way, starting with the basics and building up using a scaffolding like approach.
My sessions will be interactive as I believe this is the best way to learn new information.
I will also ensure that sessions vary in style from session to session in order to keep the tutee engaged.
