About Grace
Hello! I am a qualified History and English teacher with experience teaching in Secondary schools. When tutoring, I try to create a calm environment that is less stressful than being in the school environment. My sessions aim to be supportive, and focused on building both subject knowledge and confidence. I believe that every student can make progress with the right guidance and encouragement. Whether you're aiming for top grades, or just looking for a bit of extra support outside the classroom, I'm here to help.

As a qualified History and English teacher with experience teaching students aged 11 to 19, I bring a structured yet flexible approach to tutoring. My goal is to build both subject knowledge and academic confidence in my students, ensuring they feel supported and challenged at the right level. My techniques and methodology are tailored to the needs of each of my students, but typically my lessons involve guided instruction, active questioning and exam style practice. My aim is to identify gaps in understanding and fill them to build independence and confidence for my students. My lessons usually last between 60 and 90 minutes depending on the skills we are focusing on, and whether the student is preparing for upcoming assessments etc. I have a PGCE in Secondary History, and experience teaching both history and English to students between the ages of 11 and 19, including GCSE and A Level classes.
