About Gus
I am a 25 year old Masters graduate who currently lives in Canterbury. I recently completed an MA in Legal and Political Theory from University College London, receiving a first class honours, and I am also currently working as a cover teacher in a secondary school. My philosophy for teaching is that every student is different, and so naturally each student will have a different way of seeing the world in general and literature in particular. It is important to me that students come away from our sessions with a strong sense of their own ability, whatever their current skill level of the student. I also aim to develop an awareness in my students for the variety of approaches to English literature and the exam techniques they will need.

In these sessions our primary goal will be to develop the interpretative skills and writing techniques to tackle your GCSE exams with confidence. What the student wants to get out of our sessions, and what I believe they need, will inform the structure and content of the sessions. The most important thing for me is to create an atmosphere of acceptance and openness, where students themselves can develop their own approach to English Literature. I am always open to suggestions from my students as to how to make the best use of our time together, so don't hesitate to let me know! The typical duration of the sessions are 1 to 2 hours.
