About Lucy
I went into the teaching profession because I love making a difference and encouraging students to reach their full potential. During my day job as a teacher, I find that spending 1:1 time with students who are struggling and explaining key concepts to them in a way that suits their prior understanding and links to their prior knowledge really impacts positively on their progress, and I want to do the same for students outside of my school who need that extra support. I will take the time to get to know your strengths and areas for development in order to tailor our sessions to help you progress as much as possible and reach your full potential.

As your tutor, I will tailor your lessons to your specific needs. This will include 1:1 explanations of key concepts, with lots of questions and practice to check your understanding, and modelling of worked examples. When I am confident you have grasped a concept, we will then focus on exam technique and breaking down exam questions and mark schemes to master this skill. I have most experience teaching GCSE chemistry, but can also tutor for GCSE physics and biology, and in all sciences at KS3 level. Lessons will be 1 hour if on week nights (any time between 4.30 and 7pm) and either 1 or 2 hours on weekends, depending on your preference.
