About Meghan
I'm Meghan! I am a senior at Ball State studying Special Education for K-3. I have been working with kids since I was 12 years old! I started by babysitting my cousins, then for family friends, and then worked my way up! This was when I realized I wanted to work with kids, but I didn't know what specifically I wanted to do. Then when I was a senior in high school, I joined the peer tutoring class, which is a class that helps those with special needs, and I would create lessons for them. That was when I knew that was what I wanted to do! Ever since then, I have been finding ways to help others!

I strive to make every child feel like they can accomplish something. I love it when they finally have that aha! moment because I teach in a different way than their teachers. Your child's success is my top priority!
Something that sets me apart from other tutors is that I am really personal and connecting with a student is one of the more important aspects of success. Students commonly do not ask questions because they don't like their teachers. The issue is that the teacher does not take the time to make that connection with the child.
The lessons are for anyone who is struggling, but aimed a little bit more towards those with some sort of special need (autism,ADHD, dyslexia)
A typical lesson from me would start with some questions to understand the child's mood like"How was your day?" or "What did you do at school today?" If I see signs of them being upset or easily frustrated that day, I might lean towards worksheets and activities that they understand a little better rather than introducing something new.
