About Caroline
My name is Caroline and I am a student at Barnard College! I hail from San Diego, California, and have always been passionate about writing, creating, and reading. In high school, I loved to develop critical thinking tools that I utilized to dive deeper into my reading. I found joy in reading at my own pace, blossoming into a love of creating my own stories. I became a tutor because of my mom, a high school English teacher whose brilliance inspires me.
In college, I have continued to work on my ability to communicate effectively; a goal that is constantly readjusting and everchanging. My goal in tutoring sessions is to inspire a similar love of communication and understanding, especially when a love of reading can open new doors for students.

I come from a project-based learning background and prioritize holistic knowledge. I recognize that every student has their own unique learning style, strengths, and weaknesses, and I make it my priority to identify these traits to develop a customized plan for each student. Whether it's preparing for standardized tests such as the SAT or ACT, or helping with a specific subject, my goal is to help my students achieve their academic goals.
In addition to my academic qualifications, I am patient, supportive, and encouraging. I understand that high school can be a challenging time, and I strive to create a positive and productive learning environment that helps students feel confident and motivated. When I'm not tutoring, I enjoy hiking, directing theater, and spending quality time with my loved ones.
