About Marija
Hello! As you can see my name is Marija. I hold a Master's degree in English Language and Literature, which means I have dedicated years to studying language structure, translation, and teaching methodologies. My deep passion for literature and media led me to create a unique teaching approach. I know how intimidating it can be to learn a completely new language as an adult. My goal is to create a completely relaxed, judgment-free space where we can connect through art, pop culture, and engaging conversations. Whether you are an absolute beginner or looking to polish your conversational skills, I will tailor every lesson to your personal goals and interests. Let's make learning Serbian a labor of love and not a tiresome textbook toil that many students face!

If you think Serbian grammar and cases are scary, you are completely right— even Serbian students hide under their blankets when they have to learn them! That is why we will tuck them away in the cupboard. As a Master of English Language and Literature, I understand exactly how language acquisition works. In our lessons, you will learn the real, everyday Serbian language through our famous cinema, cult TV shows, music, and unique humor. Instead of memorizing boring grammatical cases that are the hardest parts of the language for English speakers (and let's be honest, many Serbians don't know them either), we will watch scenes from iconic Serbian movies, analyze local slang, and discuss our rich culture and traditions. You will learn how people actually speak on the streets of Belgrade or Novi Sad, all while having fun and building your confidence step-by-step.
