About Andy
My name is Andy Cortes. You can find me on social media. @amdycortesmusic. I’ve been playing guitar since I was 9 years old and professionally since I was 17 years old. At the age of 37 I’ve amassed a decent résumé as a professional musician, across multiple genres. I’ve shared the stage with artists such as, Bruno Major, James Bay, Ed Sheeran, and Ronnie Wood from the Rolling Stones. For those of you looking to work in this field professionally, I feel like I can share my experience and guide people in the right direction. More importantly, my enthusiasm for playing guitar is my greatest quality and strength. It’s vital in what I’d like to pass onto any students.

Ideally, I’d like to use specific examples of guitar playing on records or videos, and break down the techniques that we come across. We’d find ways of incorporating these ideas into your playing, and build foundations to keep improving as well as maintaining an enthusiasm in order to grow. By choosing songs that the student may want to learn, as well as my own recommendations, I hope to find the right balance of experimentation and direction to maintain a great working relationship!
