About David
Hi! My name is David, and I’m a passionate and patient tutor who enjoys helping students build confidence in subjects that may feel overwhelming at first. As an SFSU grad and Clinical Laboratory Science student, I have a strong background in science, math, and problem-solving, and I love finding ways to make difficult concepts easier to understand.
I believe learning should feel supportive, not stressful. I work hard to create a comfortable environment where students can ask questions freely, make mistakes without embarrassment, and learn at their own pace. My goal is not only to help students improve grades, but also to help them develop confidence and stronger study habits that will help them long-term.
I understand that every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to match each individual’s needs. Whether a student needs extra patience, step-by-step explanations, homework help, or test preparation, I aim to make lessons engaging, encouraging, and productive.
Outside of tutoring and school, I enjoy history, science, and learning new things — which definitely means I get a little too excited explaining random facts sometimes.

Hi! I’m a dedicated tutor who believes that learning works best when students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence step by step. My goal is not just to help students finish homework, but to help them actually understand the material and become more independent learners over time.
I focus on breaking difficult concepts into smaller, easier-to-understand steps. I adapt my teaching style to each student’s learning needs, whether they learn best through visual examples, repetition, guided practice, or real-world applications. I encourage students to explain concepts back to me so I can make sure they truly understand rather than just memorize procedures.
I’m patient, approachable, and focused on creating a low-stress learning environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions. I understand that every student learns differently, and I take the time to adapt lessons rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. I also adjust the pace of lessons depending on the student’s comfort level and learning style.

Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
I met David in 2022 at an SFSU Gaming Gators event at San Francisco State University and we've been friends since. When my younger sister needed support with pre-algebra during her 8th grade year, I recommended him as a tutor.
He worked with her consistently over the course of the year and helped her build a solid understanding of the material. She passed the class and is now enrolled in Algebra 1 in high school, which speaks to the foundation he helped her develop.
David is patient, reliable, and good at explaining concepts clearly without overcomplicating things. I'd recommend him to anyone looking for a math tutor, especially for middle school level coursework.View more recommendations
