About Madison
I relocated to Latin America years ago and built a songwriting career there, shifting my creative work entirely into Spanish, and that journey shapes almost everything about how I teach singing today. Six years into teaching now, I've worked with about one hundred students, many of them creative people or aspiring songwriters who wanted something more personal than standard singing lessons offer. My songwriting background gives me a naturally creative, collaborative teaching style, treating technique as a tool for genuine self-expression rather than an end goal in itself. I connect particularly well with students who want to write and sing their own music, not just learn to perform existing songs by other artists. My teaching style is relaxed, creative, and genuinely collaborative, built on the belief that real motivation comes from creating something genuinely your own. I take genuine pride in watching a student finish and sing their very first original song, however simple, and feel real pride over what they've created. Many students tell me they finally feel like genuine artists, not just students following someone else's material indefinitely. My approach treats singing as a creative tool, not just a technical skill. After six years, I remain genuinely passionate about this teaching approach.

I moved to Latin America years ago and shifted my songwriting practice entirely into Spanish, and that creative journey shapes a genuinely songwriting-focused approach to teaching singing today. Lessons center on melody and phrasing that unlock real songwriting quickly, since I believe creating something original motivates far more than only learning to replicate existing songs. We write together often, building a simple original melody and lyrics collaboratively, applying new technique immediately to something genuinely personal and meaningful. Vocal technique gets taught through the actual songs a student is writing, rather than disconnected exercises, since I've found students retain far more when technique serves a real creative goal. I encourage students to draw on their own life and experiences for lyrics, building genuine, personal creative work rather than generic assigned themes disconnected from anything real. Recording gets introduced early, even simply on a phone, since hearing your own original song recorded genuinely motivates continued practice and creative growth. I keep lessons relaxed and collaborative, closer to a genuine songwriting session than a formal classroom lesson, since that atmosphere genuinely helps creative confidence develop naturally. Mistakes get treated as part of the creative process, never something to apologize for, since genuine creativity requires comfortable experimentation. Every lesson leaves students with real technique and something genuinely their own.
