About Lucy
I’ve been teaching in various stage schools around London for over three years now. After graduating from drama school, I went straight into teaching and haven’t looked back since! I absolutely love working with people, children. Seeing improvement in my students is so wonderful and I’m so very proud of all of them. I’m a huge musical theatre fan, always have been! This is my happy place. We do lots of musical performances in my stage schools where I act as director and also prepare my students for their theatre exams. I have lots of experience teaching 121 lessons and preparing children for auditions for West End shows also. Mainly I would just like to pass on my love and passion for music and theatre onto my students and to have fun!

The main focus of any class that I teach is focus and interest so I tend to start with a really engaging, fun warm-up where I relate the sounds and exercises needed to warm up our voices to sounds we’d make every day, this ensures for a safe, skilled warm-up. I will then go through our chosen rep for the day, ask the student their favourite songs/singers and why and how we can implement that into our classes if desired. Acting through song is a huge part of my classes as when we can relate to lyrics, it usually is very beneficial for improvement when we go to sing them. Monologues and character description exercises feature in my classes too as I went to drama school and have lots of knowledge in this department. I will always leave 5-10 mins at the end for questions, discussions to ensure my student is getting as much as they can from my lesson while going through a good warm down to ensure our vocal health is top tier. Knowledge is power so for me, my main goal is for my student to understand why we do what we do as singers/performers and understanding the tool set we have makes for clever, talented performers!
