About Malik
My name is ADEYEMO, Abdulmalik Opeyemi. I'm a tech-savvy medic, writer, educationist & leadership advocate from Ilorin, Nigeria. I'm interested in leadership & global health. I am currently in my penultimate year studying Medicine & Surgery in University of Ilorin. In 2013, I was given an award as the most obedient & civil youth by the Olowe Youth Forum (OYF), awarded the best graduating student from GACAS in 2016, & got a national merit scholarship and grant from Total Upstream Nigeria Limited. As a writer & lover of art, I belong to a highly diversified literary group, the Oculos Literary Society. I am also part of the At-tabeeb editorial board. My poem titled "Majala" was shortlisted & published in 2018 by the Atelewo literary group in their traditional anthology, "Atewo Pelebe". Many of my other works have since been frequently featured in the Oculus first anthology, ILUMSA magazine, At-tabeeb magazine, & elsewhere. I have been involved in several research works and publications as well. I am a certified web designer & PC engineer. I also possess several other skills, both IT & non-IT-related. Led by the zeal for volunteerism & leadership, I engaged in the 2020 Operation Feed an African Child (OFAC) project that catered for the feeding of nearly 50 indigent children in Ilorin community & help designed flyers for the fundraising of up to two-hundred thousand Naira. I have also participated in other volunteer works & health outreaches like glaucoma awareness walk, the world kidney day outreach etc. As an aspiring educationist, I have tutored & mentored pre-degree students at the Erin-Ile Students' Association annual holiday tutorials & in several educational institutes. With the help of my team of experienced students, I founded Eduxpertise, an educational institute that till date offers free guidance & mentorship to pre-degree & tertiary level students. Eduxpertise was also featured as one of the '21 Millennium Fellowship projects focused on SDG 4 & UNAI principle 5. I teach because I believe that to whom much is given, much is also expected, and for the joy of seeing young students succeed academically. I have benefitted from the tutelage of others. So, it is incumbent upon me to serve others.

With the use of rudimentary approach and basic analogies in teaching, students do more of understanding and less of cramming. They are able to explain the topic taught in their own terms.
The good thing about this approach is that it is productive at all levels be it ordinary level, advanced level or undergraduates.
