About Sienna
With 18 years of flute teaching experience and 150–200 students taught, I have learnt that every learner brings a new story. High school students, college musicians, and older adults have all taught me how important patience and kindness are in education. A significant milestone in my career was helping several students prepare pieces for community performances. Seeing them share their music with others filled me with pride.
Their growth encouraged me to keep developing my teaching style. I focus on clear, gentle guidance. I explain techniques in simple steps and help students build confidence slowly. I celebrate every bit of progress and encourage students to enjoy music at their own pace. Working with elderly learners has also brought me joy, as many express how meaningful it is to learn an instrument later in life. Music education is my passion, and I hope to continue inspiring students for 18 years.

My flute teaching style includes real-life examples, motivation, problem-solving, integrity, and flexibility. I use simple examples from everyday life to explain flute skills. Breath control becomes easier when linked to slow breathing after exercise. Rhythm becomes clearer when matched with natural movements like walking or bouncing. Motivation guides the mood of every lesson. I help students enjoy learning by celebrating small successes. I remind them that music takes time and patience, and that every step forward matters. Problem-solving is a skill I encourage. When a student struggles with tone or timing, we find the cause together and use focused exercises to fix it.
This helps students build confidence in their ability to improve. Integrity shapes how I communicate. My feedback is honest but gentle. I want students to feel supported and respected while still understanding how to grow. Flexibility helps me design lessons that fit each student. I adjust speed, materials, and exercises to match their age, level, and style. I can also teach related subjects like sheet music reading, theory basics, rhythm studies, and performance preparation. My goal is to guide students towards steady progress with confidence.
