About Micheal
I am a former elementary/middle school teacher with BA and MA degrees from San Diego State university. I am TEFOL certified to teach English as a Foreign Language, and I am Leading Edge Certified as a Blended Learning/Online Teacher. I helped to found a STEAM (Science-Technology-Engineering-Arts-Mathematics) school, and have served as principal and vice-principal in my career. Having retired, I can put all of my experience, knowledge, and energy into one person---you!

I am a Teacher of the Year in San Diego, and I love seeing my students succeed. I use role-play, games, humor, and repetition in my lessons. I will have you ready for travel, business, education abroad, or just conversation. I usually begin with a warm-up game, followed by a review of last week's lesson. I then introduce new vocabulary associated with a category (things at school), or a situation (finding directions around a town or city). After some practice with new sentences in the "I do/we do" format, I would bring up an authentic video or upload a sample conversation that we can share together, and that students can repeat on their own I write lesson plans to custom-fit each student's needs and goals.
