About Yenia
I am a linguist, meaning, a studied languages. I am a Spanish-speaking native and love teaching Spanish. I majored in Russian, English and Italian, and have professionally taught both English and Italian after graduating.
As a much-needed side job I took teaching Spanish. Originally I taught high-schoolers who struggled with grammar. All of them passed, which was a boost for me. Later on I had foreign students who wanted to grasp the immensity of Spanish, so I focused on the four communicational skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking.
I fell in love with teaching Spanish and with making other people fall in love with my mother language.

Every student has different needs, so my job is to address them individually. So, I follow the steps below:
1- Find out what your current level and goals are.
2- Design a customized lesson plan to meet the Stage Goals.
3- Begin teaching. Use as much real-life materials as possible.
4- Conduct progressive assessments weekly.
5- Use the results of the assessments as feedback.
6- Keep teaching until the goals are objectively met.
Spanish is for 5-year-olds up to 60-year-olds. We just have to adjust the plan to the needs of a student.
I love to use materials from shows, spin-offs, speeches, published (interesting) books. SAY NO TO BORING UNNATURAL TEACHING!
