About Rex

Born and raised in Canada, I became inspired by travel to help others reach their language goals. I have been an online English educator for almost a decade with an accredited profile and teaching certificates from Cambridge and TEFL. I am a certified instructor for both the IELTS and CELPIP exams and my university education is from a Canadian institution with a major in International Relations.

About the lesson

Let's raise your confidence! I help international students speak, read, and write in English. I guarantee you'll have some fun, and you can expect to walk away from each class with real-world knowledge. I can help you adjust to North American culture and explain English idioms and slang and when best to use them. We'll study technical language skills, master connotation and phrasal verbs, and mix in some things the translator apps won't teach you! Born and raised in Canada, I became inspired by travel to share the gift of language. I volunteered as an English tutor throughout my university education in International Business, helping people of all nationalities learn English. I've spent years traveling the globe interacting with different cultures, and currently live in Brazil. So I know the struggle of picking up a new language! I think a great sense of humor goes a long way when it comes to teaching or learning a language. So expect some laughs along the way! I believe that through the power of communication we can access new opportunities, reach our goals, and get to know this world at a higher level. The focus of my instruction is customized to your needs. We can practice English at a conversational level, focus on job-related material, or get more advanced with public speaking and professional writing. Let's improve your vocabulary and pronunciation while helping you "think" in English!
