About Marlene
My name is Marlene Wingrove, and I am a passionate Mathematics teacher. As a child, I struggled with math, and even my Grade 1 teacher believed I wasn’t ready for Grade 2. But my parents believed in me — and I believed in myself. I promised that one day I would prove her wrong. Through hard work and determination, I discovered not only that I could succeed in math, but that I wanted to help other children who struggle, just like I once did. In Grade 11, my math teacher told me she saw me as a future primary school math teacher. That moment planted the seed of a dream I have been living ever since. Today, I have 12 years of teaching experience, including 5 years as Head of Mathematics. My mission is to build strong foundations, grow confidence, and make problem-solving exciting and achievable for every learner.
