I believe that if students do not understand the why of mathematics, they cannot fully understand the how. One cannot fully grasp any mathematical concepts through tricks and tips. I explain the why before we get into the how to solve. Through methodically evaluating number sense, place value, fractional reasoning, geometry, and other key foundational skills we are able to determine what issues are causing you or your student to struggle with their content. I like to speak with my student first to see what they need prior to giving them a 'lesson' or 'learning path'. However, I do have prepared basic videos on specific lessons ranging on topics from early elementary to Algebra 1.
