As a tutor, my approach is centered around building a strong foundation in each subject, making complex concepts accessible and enjoyable for students from grades 1 through 12. I tailor my sessions to each student’s unique learning style, ensuring they understand the material thoroughly and develop the skills needed to succeed independently. Here’s an outline of my teaching methodology, lesson plan structure, and what sets me apart:
Teaching Methodology and Techniques
My teaching methods focus on active learning, breaking down challenging topics into manageable parts. I use a combination of visual aids, examples, and interactive exercises to keep students engaged. I encourage students to ask questions and think critically about the material. In addition to delivering the content, I aim to instill confidence and curiosity, adapting my teaching style to the individual needs of each student.
A Typical Lesson Plan
A typical session with me begins with a brief review of previous material to reinforce knowledge. I then introduce new concepts, explaining each step in detail and providing plenty of examples. We move on to guided practice, where the student solves problems with my support. Toward the end of the session, I assign independent practice to ensure they have fully understood the topic and can apply what they’ve learned independently.

With over 7 years of tutoring experience, I bring a unique blend of expertise and empathy to my sessions. I create a safe and supportive learning environment, making it easier for students to express their challenges and feel encouraged to improve. My academic background in science, combined with my ongoing pursuit of a Bachelor of Nursing, allows me to present interdisciplinary connections, especially in science.
