About Curtis
I live in Lubbock, Texas with my wife Savannah. As a former state ranking academic decathlete (yes, like Spider-Man), graduate of Texas Tech with a degree in English Literature, and published poet, I am prepared to dive into any subject relating to English Literature, Composition, and Grammar.
On a more personal level, I can tell you that I love reading and writing English, and I am excited to have the opportunity to teach and discuss it with you. You may feel that English does not appeal to you for any number of reasons, but I am looking forward to showing you just how interesting and rewarding it can be to engage with writing that expresses what is most important and urgent in life, as well as what is most beautiful. My hope is that we learning something about how to write this way ourselves.

From the history of English language development to the particularities of modernist poetic innovation, I love it all! I am both qualified and eager to teach or tutor any subject relating to English, including, but not limited to:

I will tailor my approach to the particular needs of my students, but there are certain things that are critical in a learning environment. You can only glean so much from lessons if you are not committed to the reading and writing process, both of which take considerable time to do well, so I will expect my students to complete their assignments on time and putting forth their best.
Even more important to a successful educational experience than personal discipline is a clear idea of what one wants. Before we begin our lessons, we will have an interview to discuss this. Upon completion of the interview I will craft a lesson plan to help you reach your goals.
