About Andrew
I first earned an Associate in Science in Physics from Suffolk Community College. I then earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Stony Brook University. There I was inducted into the physics honor society Sigma Pi Sigma, selected and inducted by Dr. Hal Metcalf who is a distinguished laser physics researcher and professor.
I like to use demonstrations to reinforce physics concepts until they are well understood. I believe having a solid understanding of underlying concepts will lead to a big improvement in solving homework and test problems using mathematics as the language of physics.

First focusing on establishing a solid understanding of physics concepts needed to understand the thought process and mathematical basis for problem solving.
Then focusing on a systematic, step by step, approach to solving physics problems where the process can be applied from simple to non-trivial problems.
I have a formal education in physics from Stony Brook University, as well 6.5 years practical experience operating an array of particle accelerators at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) working on the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC), NASA Space Radiation Laboratory (NSRL), and the Brookhaven Linear Isotope Producer (BLIP). I can combine formal tutoring and real-world experience working with state-of-the-art experimental equipment which will inspire students to strive to excel in physics and produce positive results in their individual classroom setting.
