About Maria
Hi, I’m Maria – a passionate English tutor, writer, and lifelong word nerd! With nearly 20 years of experience helping students of all ages master English Language and Literature, I specialise in GCSE & A-Level tutoring, ESL support, and creative writing coaching. Whether you’re aiming to boost exam results, craft compelling essays, or finally finish that short story, I’m here to guide you with warmth, clarity, and a whole lot of encouragement. I’ve worked with learners from all over the world – teens, adults, and nervous writers alike – helping each one find confidence and joy in the written word. I’ve also been an AQA examiner and taught in both schools and independent settings, so I know how to blend creativity with curriculum. Oh — and I’m also a published author of science fiction and fantasy novels, so if you’re into dragons, dystopias, or dreams of publishing your own work… I’m your girl. Lessons are relaxed, personalised, and focused on what you need — whether that’s nailing exam technique, improving grammar, or unleashing your imagination. Let’s write something brilliant together!

I’ve been teaching English for nearly 20 years — from GCSE and A-Level prep to ESL, creative writing, and adult learning.
