About Sathana
Hi! My name is Sathana, and I'm going into my third year at Western University, pursuing a degree in medical sciences. I loved math as a kid but also experienced what struggling in math can look like in high school. I've experienced both the frustration and the joy that come with learning math. Despite the challenges, I consistently achieved above 90% in all my classes, including over 95% in IB math. Having been through this myself, I understand the stress and struggles students face. My goal is to make the most of your time and help you grasp the concepts you need to excel academically! And hey, no judgment here - just a supportive space where you can thrive. With 6 years of one-on-one math tutoring experience and 4 years of assisting classroom teaching for grades 3 to 10, I know how to make learning math engaging and effective. My students discover that math doesn't have to be about memorizing boring concepts; instead, we break down challenging topics into manageable pieces, turning them into familiar and understandable material with practice. By making learning enjoyable and accessible, I aim to foster a deeper comprehension and appreciation for the subject matter. A typical lesson with me starts with covering the necessary content, followed by practice questions to ensure understanding. We then dedicate time to your specific needs, whether that means additional practice, tackling challenging questions from my extensive question bank, or exploring the concept through different methods and strategies to reinforce understanding.
The lessons can be tailored to suit your needs. They can either be concept-based, where I provide a comprehensive overview of the necessary concepts based on my understanding of the curriculum. Alternatively, they can be student-centered, where you specify the material or content to be covered. In this approach, I can create a detailed schedule to efficiently cover all required content while ensuring the student grasps the concepts deeply and can follow along effectively.
I specialize in working with middle school to high school students and can provide help in geometry, algebra, trigonometry, calculus, and any other math courses you need assistance with.

Perfect! Sathana is an incredibly patient, kind, and professional tutor. She is always punctual and teaches in a very efficient and easy-to-understand way. Honestly, I feel her math teaching skills are even better than some professional math teachers I’ve met. As a university student, she is very knowledgeable and explains concepts clearly while making lessons comfortable and encouraging. Sathana was super helpful with tutoring me in math. I was really struggling with trigonometry and within 3 months I was getting above 90 in school. She has a really nice way of explaining concepts that makes it very easy to follow along with. I think what I liked most was that I was able to resonate and connect with her which made learning more enjoyable. Would highly recommend her to anyone that needs help with math!
