About Dejiah
A little bit about my experience with science… Hi, my name is Dejiah. I am a college student pursuing a bachelor's degree in cell & molecular biology. My academic experience consists of algebra, calculus, physics, general & organic chemistry, environmental science, human anatomy & physiology, cell biology, microbiology, and genetics. I also have experience with general chemistry and biology laboratories. During the summer, I participate in various internships, research, and laboratories. Throughout my life, school has been challenging for me. I struggled to grasp, memorize, and execute concepts as a child, however, I always knew I wanted to be a scientist. Through different learning strategies, consistency, and encouragement, I would now be in my senior year of university. I want to make learning more enjoyable for students by teaching according to their needs, which is why I like to learn my students before teaching the lesson. All in all, I'm hoping to form meaningful relationships with my students and make every lesson a safe learning environment. Some fun things about me; I love all kinds of animals, hanging out with my friends, and swimming.

So first things first, let's get to know each other! I want to know how you learn best so I can teach you accordingly. We can then discuss everything you already know of the topic and help fill in the gaps later. The key to understanding new concepts is to have a solid foundation of them first. I'll also take the time to look over your assignments so I can get a good feel for what your teacher is expecting. We'll finish up with a quick summary of everything we've gone over and I'll answer any remaining questions you may have so that you leave off on a good note. If you’re someone who often forgets specific concepts or vocabulary, we can work on repetition to help you remember. If you’re completely new to something that’s okay too! I’m okay with taking things slow. I can also formulate specific quizzes/tests for each student's needs and offer tips for stressful testing situations.
