About Catherine
I have taken Spanish every year of school. I am currently a Spanish minor at Boston University. It is helpful to learn from someone who has had experience as a student in all types of Spanish classes, whether it be high school grammar, or a current events writing course. I have taken 3 semesters of undergraduate Spanish courses. The first was Advanced Spanish which focused on human rights issues in Latin America (feminism, trans rights, immigration). The second course was Latin America through screenwriting; a writing intensive course about Telenovelas. Currently, I am taking a Spanish acting class where we read, write, and perform plays. I love learning Spanish in all different ways, and I would love to use my knowledge to help students gain a stronger understanding of the language so that they too can enjoy the opportunities of the wider world.

I aim to help beginner Spanish students learn basic language techniques. I can help solidify understanding of tenses, create helpful study guides and habits, and teach how to learn vocabulary. I have learned throughout my studies that it is best to talk through the issues you have when learning a language and take the necessary time away from the classroom to fully understand it. Sometimes it is hard to keep up with the pace of a class. Spanish builds upon itself, so understanding each concept is important for progression. It is my goal to help students understand what they are learning and reinforce what they find confusing.
