About Beccalynn

Especially helpful for learners who feel capable but overwhelmed, inconsistent, or unsure why things aren’t clicking.

Learning doesn’t always break down because a student doesn’t understand the material. Sometimes the challenge is figuring out how to begin, organize information, remember what worked, manage competing demands, or recover when a familiar strategy stops working.

I work with neurodivergent learners, homeschoolers, and students who have been told to “just try harder” when trying harder clearly isn’t solving the problem.

With more than 35 years of experience in education and coaching, I take a practical, individualized approach to study skills and academic support. Together, we look at where the learning process is getting stuck and experiment with strategies for organization, executive function, planning, focus, self-regulation, and independent learning.

There is no single “right” way to study or learn. The goal is to help learners understand how they learn, build strategies they can actually use, and become increasingly confident navigating their own learning.

This one sounds much more like what happens at your table.

Study skills are more than knowing how to take notes or make a schedule. Sometimes the real challenge is starting the task, deciding what matters, keeping track of multiple assignments, retaining information, or using a strategy consistently when stress or fatigue enters the picture.

Sessions combine coaching, curiosity, and practical tools tailored to the individual learner. We look at what is working, where the process is breaking down, and what might make the next step more manageable.

I work especially well with neurodivergent learners, homeschoolers, and students who find traditional study strategies difficult to use consistently. Depending on the learner, we may work on:

Focus, retention, and task management
Organization, planning, and follow-through
Recognizing personal learning patterns
Breaking large or overwhelming tasks into workable steps
Executive function and self-regulation strategies
Building study systems that can be used independently

This can be especially helpful during learning transitions—from elementary school through adulthood—when expectations change and previously hidden gaps in organization, pacing, executive function, or foundational skills begin to show.

My role isn’t to hand you another system you’re supposed to follow. We experiment, observe what actually helps, adjust what doesn’t, and build strategies you can increasingly use on your own.
