About Atena
I am a student at Imperial College London, and I’ve played piano for 10 years - I’ve taught friends and family with great success!
I passed Grade 8 Piano with ABRSM, and Grade 5 Music Theory, also ABRSM.
I also perform in an a cappella group at my university, writing arrangements for the group, so I have very strong knowledge of music theory and reading music - I sometimes even arrange sheet music for students’ favourite songs suited to their ability, which I’ve found motivates them a lot!

If working towards grades, I often dedicate the same amount of time to scales and pieces, but this depends on the strengths of the student, and the grade. Some pick up pieces very fast but need lots of practise in scales and vice versa!
If just learning for fun, I am flexible in the lesson structure and can teach theory and/or just pieces!
