About the lesson

* In-water practical that comes with swimming equipment to aid students (kids and adults) to learn swimming. All 4 strokes will be taught starting with freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. What matters the most is to educate kids as early as they can that swimming is necessary for survival and safety!
* Approaching students in a friendly way and making them comfortable is my top priority!
* Depending on the age, the length of a lesson varies from 30 minutes to 1 hour.
* I am an experienced coach (2 years) and have been working as a part-time coach for other swimming schools and used to be a part of a swimming club back in my university days.
* My classes are open for kids as early as 1 year old to adults.

Details

My hourly rate is RM70 + RM50 (max) for transportation (depends on the distance and each session will be charged). I offer 4 classes per month and if you enroll for the classes, the price is different: Kid (1 to 12 years old) - RM 280/student including transportation (4 classes), Adult (> 13 years old) - RM 350/student including (4 classes). Transportation depends on the distance but the max price is RM50 (4 classes). Details can be referred to IG: whaleyswimschool

At what age did you start playing sports? Tell us about this time or moment in your life.
Oh man, I remembered that I was a very inactive kid during my primary school. I'd always skipped co-curricular activities and that's about it. But things started to change after I entered high school whereby I developed my interest in bowling and basketball. But mostly I spent my sports time with basketball until my university days. That is when I started to develop a new interest in sports which is swimming!
What are your favourite sports; those that you practice at a high level, a simple hobby, and a sport that you'd still like to discover?
I would say basketball as I used to represent my faculty, but in the last 10 years, I have found that I am really fond of swimming. Something just attracts me!
What gives you the motivation and passion to pursue your sport?
Most of the time, I love watching the NBA. As for swimming, I'd always enjoy watching high-level competitions such as the Olympics and so on. I think these things are the main contributions to keep me pursuing.
Do you have a sporting achievement that you're particularly proud of?
Yes! I used to be a coach for my faculty team. The one I managed was the FKK women's team whereby I managed to bring the team to the quarter final defeating the team that was handled by the UITM men's basketball team.
How have your achievements and challenges made you a better sportsperson?
Mostly the discipline and patience that really help me a lot!
If you had to go for a jog with a famous athlete, who would you choose? And what questions would you ask them?
Definitely Michael Jordan. That question is going to be "Is it really worth all your struggles and challenges to be who you are now?"
How do you help people stay motivated?
By simply understanding them. Each person is different. I have taught kids, adults and from there I will be as best as I can to really understand them so I can connect with them to always be motivated!
What makes you a Superprof in sports?
I like to teach and share my knowledge. Seeing people be able to swim after I taught them, it is an indescribable feeling! The best thing is you can create your own community and always give to people.
