About Jack
I graduated from Pinehurst School with 11 A* IGCSEs and 5 A-Levels, earning 3 A*s and 2 As. I also received an Outstanding Cambridge Learner Award in one of my essay-based subjects. I’m now studying a Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in Finance) and a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Sydney. My background in English Literature played a major role in shaping the argumentative and communication skills I now use daily, and I’m passionate about helping other students succeed in the same way!

I’ve had a deep passion for literature ever since studying it in high school, earning A* grades in both IGCSE and A-Level English Literature. I now draw on that recent, firsthand experience to help students master the skills and knowledge needed to achieve top results.
In our sessions, I focus on developing your ability to generate nuanced interpretations of texts (all of which I’ve read myself), sharpen your language analysis, and write essays that meet the A* standard. I’m happy to mark practice essays outside of lesson time and am always available during the week for questions or extra support.
I bring energy and clarity to every session, aiming not just to improve your grades, but to inspire the same love for literature and argumentation that shaped my own academic path. As a law student at the University of Sydney, I use the skills I developed in IGCSE/A-Level English Literature every day: close reading, critical thinking, and persuasive writing, and I’m excited to help you develop those same tools to earn a top grade!
