About Julia
I have loved teaching and working with people since a very young age and have taught and worked with kids from as young as 3 to as old as 18. I completed two bachelor degrees at McGill University, one in the faculty of Science with a major in Chemistry and a minor in Biology (Bachelor of Science) and a Bachelor of Education with a concentration in Secondary Education Teaching Science and Technology. During my undergraduate I have also worked with the Quebec society of handicapped children, conducted research in education, and taught English and science summer classes for students who have recently immigrated to Canada. I am currently finished my Master’s degree in Experimental Surgery; Surgical Innovation Concentration. I'm currently working at a private school ( my second full time year) Teaching grade 10 science, physics and biology. Last year I taught grade 10, physics, chemistry, biology .

I have a workbook with summaries + exercises. I use power-points for each unit and usually do problems on the board. I also like to integrate videos in the powerpoints. I have found that integrating short films and videos in my lectures to demonstrate three dimensional concepts has worked really well to teach abstract chemistry concepts. Lots of practice makes perfect in science, the more problems you do the better you become.
