About Kerri
I am a published author, professional writer, teacher of English literature, writing teacher/coach, and professional communicator with over 30 years of experience and successful outcomes. I have published three books, one of which (Rhythms of Grace) was published by Zondervan and became an Amazon #1 Best Seller in the Spiritual Growth category. I was a pastor at a large church for 23 years. In that context developed and taught over 20 curriculum series, ghost wrote 2 books that were published by major publishing houses, and wrote and delivered countless sermons. I have been a featured key note speaker at events and conferences in the USA, Europe, and Africa. I can use my expertise to help you write anything from a standard essay for your English class to a speech prepared for thousands of listeners. I can also coach you through the process of writing a book, developing a curriculum, discovering your creative process, discovering your speaking style and honing your writing and speaking skills. My approach can be summed up in four words: Think, Plan, Write, Execute. Lesson plans are formed around my method and assigned to accommodate assignment deadline.
THINK: A well-written essay is based on and undergirded by a logically coherent and consistent framework that will emerge as I guide the student to analyze the assignment, formulate opinions, write a working thesis and conclusion.
PLAN: Based on the framework that emerges from thinking, I help the student create a road map for their essay. The road map is created from the perspective of the reader and forms the basis for the outline of the essay.
WRITE: After thinking and planning, the student writes a rough draft of the essay. During this phase, I tailor the instruction and guidance to the individual student and their skill level.
EXECUTE: Edit and revise the rough draft for content and style. Once second draft is complete, a third draft is written add reference, annotation, and form using the grading rubric as a guide. Third draft is reviewed and edited for form and grammar. Revisions are made, resulting in the final draft.
What sets me apart as a tutor? I love teaching people how to write! My goal is to remove the mystery from the art of writing and leave students with skills that will add value that extends far beyond the context of one assignment.

Details
I charge travel rates if commute is over 40 minutes each way. My travel rate is whatever the standard milage rate is at the time of the session (currently 65.5 cents/mile). As a general rule, I do not meet at private homes. I prefer to meet in public spaces such as libraries, workplaces, schools, universities, coffee shops, etc. I will travel out of town for special projects with corporate clients. Client pays for all travel expenses. Corporate engagements are priced individually at a corporate rate. Please contact me to discuss your project!
